Haptic Device
Kit

A handle is used as a 1DOF haptic device, driven by a DC motor with feedback from either an encoder or a potentiometer. This device can also be used as input to control other EMB plants, with haptic capability.

Learning Objectives Include

  • Modeling and simulation of dynamic systems

  • System identification and model validation

  • Linkage kinematics and kinetics

  • Haptic control implementation

  • Impedance control

  • PID control

  • Discrete State-Space controller
